Meet Kyle

Kyle Seeback is the Member of Parliament for the federal riding of Dufferin-Caledon.

Having earned a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Western Ontario, Kyle worked as a civil litigation lawyer at the firm of Simmons, DaSilva & Sinton in Brampton, Ontario.

Kyle represented the federal riding of Brampton West from 2011 – 2015. He was a member of the Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development and the Justice and Human Rights committees, while representing over 232,000 residents in the largest constituency in the nation. In 2015, Kyle was defeated as the Conservative candidate in the riding of Brampton West, while receiving the highest percentage of votes among Conservative candidates in all of Brampton.

After a brief departure from politics, Kyle trained as a mediator. He is a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario and has been certified by the University of Windsor Law School.

Kyle is an outspoken voice for freedom of speech and strong democratic institutions. He was instrumental in helping pass the Reform Act, a critical piece of legislation that enhances the independence of Members of Parliament. Since being elected to represent the riding of Dufferin-Caledon, Kyle has become a champion of small businesses, farmers, and reliable and affordable high speed rural internet.

In his university years, Kyle swam for the Canadian national team and in 1989 was ranked in the world’s Top 16 Swimmers in his specialty, the 200m butterfly. He is a proud father of Aidan and Maya, and can be often found in the hockey arena where he coached Orangeville Minor Hockey for nearly a decade.
